I stumbled upon Thomas Herbrich site some time ago and it was the first time I came across anything like this. Yes you see ads in magazines but you never really think about all the work that goes into it and what I enjoye the most about his site is that he explains how he did each of his photos. I think my favourite is the giraffe crossing the bridge with the child in Portfolio 2.

I discovered Simon Burch through browsing Saddington & Baynes. His commissioned work is similar to the type of work Herbrich does although he compiles his photographs through working with S&B. Check out his site, I really liked Book 03, his Southern States series.

When I first came across Aaron Ruells work I enjoyed his Places section the most, with its muted colors, interesting composition and a kind of hidden intimacy. Looking through all his photos you get a feel of restrospect and nostalgia for a time that is long gone but seems to be reinacted flawlessly. Aaron Ruell is also Kip from Napoleon Dynamite and is a director.

Kalua Krynska is an interior designer as well as a photographer. And you can see the connection between the two when looking at all her work as a whole. Theres a beautiful simplicity and balance. My favourite series being her diptychs and portraits.
